On June 5, police arrested the suspect while she was allegedly attempting to hand over a newborn infant to the undercover officer. The arrest marked a breakthrough in the investigation and provided authorities with critical information about the wider trafficking network.

Following extensive questioning, investigators uncovered links to a multi-state criminal operation stretching across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi.

The operation resulted in the arrest of additional suspects identified as Shalu, Lalit, Pratibha, and Bipin, who police claim played various roles within the trafficking chain.

Newborns Transported Across State Borders

Investigators allege that the gang obtained babies from poor and vulnerable families primarily in Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Some infants were allegedly purchased from financially struggling parents, while authorities are also investigating claims that certain children may have been taken through deception or illegal means.

After acquiring the babies, traffickers reportedly transported them to Delhi before arranging sales to couples in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and other regions.

Hospital Allegedly Served as Operational Hub

Police identified Hirar Multispeciality Hospital in Delhi's Rohini area as a key location connected to the network.

According to investigators, the hospital was allegedly used to house newborn babies before they were transferred to buyers.

Authorities claim that the hospital's owner, Dr. Viveki, played a significant role in coordinating transactions and helping traffickers conceal the true origins of the children.

Police allege that forged birth certificates, delivery records, and medical documents were created to falsely indicate that the babies had been born at the hospital.

These fabricated documents reportedly made it easier for buyers to claim legal parentage and reduced suspicion during official verification processes.

The allegations have raised serious concerns regarding regulatory oversight and the potential misuse of healthcare institutions in criminal activities.

Supply Chain Extended to Rajasthan and Gujarat

Further investigation led authorities to arrest Sababhai Gamar, also known as Kalia, in Gujarat.

Police claim that Gamar was responsible for sourcing newborn babies from vulnerable families in Rajasthan and Gujarat before transferring them to Delhi-based members of the network.

Officials estimate that at least 30 newborn babies may have been trafficked by the gang within the past year alone.
