For the third year in a row, the UN has blacklisted the occupying Israeli army and security forces for serious human rights violations against children.

According to the agency's latest report, the number of serious violations committed against children worldwide reached record levels in 2025, with the highest incidence occurring in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

According to news agency Anadolu, they received a report of the United Nations awaiting publication. According to the 2025 data-based report, serious human rights violations against children have reached unprecedented levels this year. In 2025, the United Nations verified a total of 38,558 serious violations against 24,174 children. Among the affected children, 15 thousand 493 were boys, 7 thousand 990 were girls and 691 could not be identified.

For the first time in 30 years of history, government forces have been identified as the most responsible party for serious violations against children, a senior UN official said. According to him, the Israeli government ranks highest in the number of serious violations against children among government forces, followed by Russia.

The report also stated that there was a 34 percent increase in child fatalities and a 10 percent increase in child injuries compared to the previous year. The highest number of verified serious violations occurred in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory, with 12,445 such incidents. Apart from this, 4 thousand 114 cases were recorded in the Democratic Republic of Congo, 2 thousand 560 in Nigeria, 2 thousand 203 in Myanmar and 2 thousand 195 in Somalia.

According to the data, in 2025, 6 thousand 266 children were killed, 7 thousand 958 were injured, 6 thousand 607 were recruited into armed groups, 8 thousand 322 were deprived of humanitarian assistance and 4 thousand 573 children were abducted.

In the report, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he was deeply shocked by the scale of grave violations committed against children in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel. He said he was appalled by the ongoing serious violations in the Gaza Strip and was deeply concerned by the escalating violence in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

Guterres also said that attacks by Israeli occupation forces have increased at an alarming rate. He also criticized the lack of accountability of those responsible for these violations. Source: Anadolu.
