New record for attendance at 4 World Cup matches on the same day
A new record has been set for the number of spectators attending four matches on the same day in the history of the World Cup.
The highest number of spectators at the stadium in the 1994 World Cup in the United States was 277,070 in four matches in one day. This was a record for the World Cup so far. But yesterday, local time, the number of new spectators was counted at 281,223 in four matches.
Four matches were held in the United States on this day. The highest number of football fans was 80,545 in the France vs. Senegal match, 69,045 in the Argentina vs. Algeria match, 68,527 in the Austria vs. Jordan match, and 63,106 in the Iraq vs. Norway match.
FIFA said that an average of 65,483 fans are attending the stadium every day for each match in the 2026 World Cup. It is expected that the total attendance of three and a half million in 1994 will be surpassed this time.
